Unfortunately, Robin has just been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer and given three months to live.
The last summer they were there, she and Henry had shared a kiss. In an effort to create an aura of normalcy around a very abnormal summer, Robin encourages Taylor to get a summer job. She gets a gig at a snack bar on the beach.
About this item
Only after she accepts the job does Taylor realize she will be working alongside her former best friend, Lucy, along with a boy named Elliot. Lucy is unkind to Taylor, pressuring her to quit, which Taylor desperately wants to do. Meanwhile, Lucy dates many boys and invites Taylor on a blind double date. However, the date makes Taylor feel awkward and so, she flees, upsetting Lucy.
Every morning, Taylor has breakfast with her father at the diner; others in the family build relationships with those around them. T he other residents of La Banditaccia found themselves at this crossroad for multiple reasons: year-old Karen is feeling the loneliness of the empty nest; Gill, 50, was recently widowed; Reiki master Altaf, 44, has also lost a parent recently, and seen two relationships fail. W hich is not to say the villa was short on energy.

Chi, 47, is a fiery creative designer from Brixton, and perpetual singleton, workaholic and tech entrepreneur Robert, 46, was looking for the chance to make another successful career as a wellness guru. So how did the casa-mates get on?
F or Rob, arrival was more nerve-wracking. Friends who work in TV had told me to remember to breathe and just roll with it. But it was hard, there was a lot to take in.
Second Chance Summer
R ob bonded with Altaf and Robert straight away. We were never going to get on as one big happy family, it was bound to be a bit dysfunctional.
B ut the first fight was for space. As the seven weeks rolled on, all the participants acquired new skills — from farming chickens to learning Italian, and becoming intoxicated by their surroundings in the process. F or Andy, one highlight was his early morning 5km walk around the vineyard to check for damage to the fence and crop from wild boar. We were cascading through our belt notches. S o did the constant cameras affect their escape of the rat race?
I know others felt the same.

S o did the constant cameras affect their escape of the rat race? I know others felt the same. I had to walk through the door of the house about four times, at different angles.
It took 45 minutes to get to my drink. If we could have stayed without cameras I would have done.
So what did happen after filming stopped? For Andy and Rob, at least, the adventure has gone on in possibly the exact way the production team hoped.

W ith Gavin, Andy has started the Valeria olive oil and truffle company, which will sell oil made in the tree grove which he has rented in Tuscany. I could never have imagined being an olive farmer — but currently I am. R ob has made an even bigger life change. I love it.
